From time-served bricklayers to commercial and apprenticeship specialists.
Adam formed AJAY Brickwork in 2015 after beginning his own bricklaying apprenticeship in 2002. From the living room of his home, he has grown AJAY into a multimillion-pound company providing year-round work for more than 100 bricklayers. A time-served bricklayer, Adam remains at the heart of the business today.
Keith joined AJAY in 2019. Adam’s father, he brings more than 30 years of experience in commercial construction. Keith plays a key role in customer care and client relationships, helping ensure clients remain happy with the finished product beyond the visible work on site.
Trevor, Adam’s uncle and Keith’s brother, joined AJAY in 2020. A time-served bricklayer with more than 40 years of brickwork and management experience, including over 20 years as a Contracts Manager, he brings valuable experience across the running of a fast-paced contracting business.
Sebastian joined AJAY in 2020 as a Junior Quantity Surveyor at the age of 20 and has since completed his BSc (Hons) degree in Quantity Surveying at Northumbria University. He is responsible for estimating, costing, margin control and supporting cashflow across the business.
Ross joined AJAY’s management team as a Contracts Manager in 2025 after previously working for the company as a bricklayer across multiple North East sites. He prides himself on quality and brings strong people-management skills while overseeing teams that can exceed 75 bricklayers at one time.
James became a Contracts Manager at AJAY in 2025 after previously working for the company as a bricklayer. As more main contractors adopt timber-frame construction, James has developed specialist knowledge of timber-frame delivery and the changing rules, regulations and production requirements around it.
Michelle joined AJAY in 2021 in a role created to support the company’s apprentices. She coordinates site work and college progress, helping apprentices stay on course for their End Point Assessment and qualification. The role reflects Adam’s commitment to bringing new tradespeople into the industry and creating opportunities for young people.
The office team supporting wages, finance administration, health and safety data, apprenticeship funding and day-to-day operations.
Beverley joined AJAY in August 2024. She supports the preparation and completion of wages and carries out general office duties including filing and health and safety data entry, helping the office run smoothly.
Alison joined AJAY in 2020 and brings more than 25 years of experience in office management. She looks after wages, the cashbook, VAT returns, apprenticeship funding and the wider office function, while supporting office staff and helping ensure payments are made on time.
Amelia joined the office team in November 2024. She helps with the preparation and completion of wages, supports data entry and looks after the vehicle pool logs, contributing to the day-to-day running of the office.
